About Us

WHO WE ARE

Multipurpose Activities for noble Assistance and Benevolence for Integrated Community (in short; MANABIC) is a registered secular, non-profitable, non-political  voluntary organization working in West Bengal (mainly in Kolkata & North 24 Parganas) since 2009.

 

We work in the area of Health, Education, Dependency, and Awareness campaignining. Our organization consists of mental health professionals such as Psychologists, Counsellors, Social Workers interested in mental health , Doctor, Advocate, Marriage Officer, Law Graduates, Teacher Professional Nurse etc.

 

General Body comprises of 21 members and there is an elected Governing Body of 9 members. The Secretary is the Chief Executive of the organization. He is entrusted with the implementation and monitoring of programmes. He is also responsible for administering the human resource of the organization.

 

OUR VISION

MANABIC will help to create an empowered and self reliant society as a catalyst to bring changes in the millions of children, youth, woman and old aged people, who are not privileged, by providing educational service, awareness campaigning, providing dependency and by providing services towards the betterment of physical and mental health that are accessible to all sections of society having noble and committed leadership with transparency.

MANABIC is a multidisciplinary organization aspire to make people aware, build up social responsibilities, mobilize resources for sustainable development. To empower the unprivileged and under privileged by strengthening their economic, social and health status through impartial integrated development programme to the integrated community.

OUR APPROACH

Making people conscious and aware by breaking their inertia will be main form of intervention. Increasing awareness of mental health in the community encourages research in the field of mental health by providing training in the field of counselling and psychotherapy. MANABIC believes mental health affects all facets of an individual’s life. Therefore, an all round effort is necessary to prevent the impairment of mental health. Its approach will be of serving the school community in the area of sensitization, training and intervention of students, teachers and parents. Organise people and facilitating developments of their capacity for decision making is the key approach.

ADMINISTRATION

A well-oiled administration has ensured that all our activities are conducted cohesively and efficiently, complying with the rules of the Societies Act. Manabic’s team strives towards implementing the best practices with complete transparency in financial management by providing specific responsibilities to key members.

MANABIC’s organisational structure is governed by the Societies Act of 1860 as a non-governmental organisation (NGO) which mandates two key governance bodies: a) The General Body, and b) The Governing Body.

General Body

The General Body (GB) is the supreme authority deciding the organisation's governance policies and comprises 21 members who share our mission. Every year, it elects nine members to form the Governing Body. Important decisions, for example to amend the Society's rules and regulations, are taken based on consensus or majority voting during the annual General Body meeting. In addition, the General Body assesses and adopt the annual auditor's statement of accounts and the annual report.

The Governing Body

The Governing Body, that meets at least six times a year, looks into the day to day affairs of the organisation. The final responsibility for execution of all projects, financial accountability and overall management of the institution rests with the The Governing Body. The  Governing Body also has the role of guiding policy and sustainability issues.
